We source all of our potatoes from Green Thumb Farms right here in Maine.  These are one of two varieties of potatoes, Fenway Red or Dark Red Norland.

Green Thumb Farms has been farming in Western Maine since 1965. Working on over 2200 acres of rich Saco River Valley soil has firmly established our reputation for quality potatoes, dry beans and corn. Our third-generation family farm strives to preserve Maine’s open spaces and agricultural heritage.

In our search for the perfect potato Green Thumb Farms is constantly trying new varieties to perfect the cooking and eating experience so you as customers have an excellent eating experience.  Rest assured they don’t grow varieties they wouldn’t eat!  Extensive research goes into our seed before it goes into the ground.  All of our seed gets cut before planting, but not all seed makes our cut.  We choose only the best table stock varieties for your eating enjoyment.

These Maine red potatoes are a popular side dish for lobster, crab, and other seafood staples in New England. These size “B” potatoes are a mid grade but there aren’t enough “C” sizes to fill an order so they are basically the smallest potatoes we can get for Maine varieties.
